Tube Sale over-Congratulations

Congratulations to all who scored tubes at the Pilar Yacht Club River Run Tube sale!  We sold out of our stock in two days!  That's the power of the internet!  So, of course we had to order some more.  But, unfortunately, because of a significant wholesaler price increase we are no longer able to offer them for the sale price.  Our regular price of 29.95 is actually almost 20% below the suggested retail price tag.  Rather than sell a lower priced lower quality brand, we are choosing to stay with River Run because it has proven itself to be the most durable and most versatile tube we have encountered so far.  As always we enjoy seeing you in our store, and hope to offer you the best values for your Rio Grande River recreation!

The Return of the Chile Philly and the Return of the Conquistador!

After SELLING OUT of the Chile Philly last week, the Pilar Yacht Club has received its new shipment of strip steaks and the popular sandwiches are being served up again!  All beef strip steak topped with cheese, served with roasted onions and tricolor peppers on a Seeded hearty bun.  Guacamole and chopped green chile are added for a distinctive southwest flavor!

The Pilar Yacht Club also announces the RETURN of the CONQUISTADOR for our August lunch scene.  The Conquistador is a distinctive burrito filled with a Jalapeno and Cheddar Jack stuffed Kielbasa.  This delicious sausage is wrapped in a warm flour tortilla with roasted corn, peppers, and onions (our FIESTA mix) and chile.  A feast for all Rio Grande Explorers and casual Passers-by!

Catered Lunches for Groups at the PYC

Wilma's 37 person family reunion enjoyed a catered lunch at the Pilar Yacht Club on Wednesday, July 11, 2012.  After their morning raft trip, family members congregated at the Pilar Yacht Club www.pilaryachtclub.com.  The dining patio was set up entirely for them with appetizers of chips and salsa and a buffet presentation for the lunch sandwiches. Rico served Beef burgers, Chicken Breast Sandwiches, Veggie Burgers, and hot dogs fresh off the grill.  Then diners lined up to heap on the plentiful toppings of green chile, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles--and of course ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise.  Guests  were refreshed with a selection of iced beverages.  Thank you Wilma and her large traveling family for the opportunity to serve you such an enjoyable meal!

Note: the raft trip was provided by Far Flung Adventures (575-758-2628).

Kayak Classes on Pilar Yacht Club Patio

Kelly Gossett leads one of his popular kayak classes on the Pilar Yacht Club patio.  Students enjoy ordering breakfast and coffees in the cafe and then watch demonstrations and participate in discussion of technique and theory.  Late morning, they are ready to hit the water and head down to various points on the Rio Grande to practice what they have just learned!! Classes camp in the Orilla Verde Recreation Area right in the Rio Grande gorge and enjoy spectacular sunsets along with camp fire camaradarie.  In the morning, we at Pilar Yacht Club, are happy to supply them with their morning latte and delicious breakfast burrito.  Kelly's favorite, by the way, is the Breakfast Bratwurst Burrito!
