These are photos of a large fat rattlesnake that Suzy Furlan of Pilar found in her yard, which is in the flood plain of the Rio Grande. You can see she slid a yard stick next to him; so you get an idea of the length and girth. Thank you Suzy for the photos and remember to keep an eye out for snakes when recreating by the river!
Good thing this fellow had just eaten and was sleepy, eh? Keep an open eye always!! And steer clear.
